These Terms & Conditions govern the use of services provided by Marlies Oy, as well as the use of related platforms and tools (e.g. websites, booking and payment systems). By booking a session, completing a payment, or using our services, you agree to these Terms.1. Parties to the Agreement
Service Provider: Marlies Oy (Business ID 3589759-1, VAT FI35897591, registered office Espoo, Finland, [email protected], www.marlies.fi), referred to as "Marlies".
Client: The individual (consumer) or company/organisation that has ordered and paid for the service.For corporate clients, the person participating in the coaching (e.g. an employee) may differ from the paying party. In such cases, the roles of each party and any reporting arrangements will be agreed separately before the service commences.2. Scope and Validity of Services
Services are delivered in accordance with the option selected by the Client at the time of purchase, for example:
- Single coaching session (45, 60 or 90 min) — valid and must be booked within 3 months of the purchase date.
- Package of 3 sessions — valid and must be used within 6 months of the purchase date.
- Package of 5 sessions — valid and must be used within 6 months of the purchase date.
Sessions not used within the validity period will not be refunded or credited.Sessions are held primarily online via Microsoft Teams. Other formats (e.g. in-person) are always agreed separately, as are any associated additional costs such as travel or venue expenses.Please note that Marlies' services do not constitute therapy, psychotherapy, medical treatment, legal advice, or financial advice, and must not be used as a substitute for any of these. Where appropriate, we can refer the Client to more suitable or complementary service providers.3. Pricing and Payments
All prices are listed on our booking pages and include Value Added Tax (VAT) in accordance with Finnish law.
Online purchases are paid in full at the time of booking — primarily via our payment platform (Stripe), which is integrated with our booking platform (Calendly). An invoicing option is also available where needed — please contact [email protected].Delivery of the service (e.g. coaching) may not commence until payment has been received in full.4. Consumer Right of Withdrawal
Under the Finnish Consumer Protection Act (38/1978, Chapter 6), consumer clients of Marlies have the right to withdraw from their purchase within 14 days of the date of purchase, provided that Marlies has not yet begun delivering the service (e.g. no coaching session has yet taken place).
To exercise this right, please contact us by email at [email protected] before the 14-day period expires. Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal notice.By confirming and paying for your booking, you expressly request that Marlies may begin delivering the service within the 14-day withdrawal period. You also acknowledge that the right of withdrawal lapses once delivery has commenced (e.g. once a coaching session or the first session in a package has taken place).Corporate clients do not have a statutory right of withdrawal under consumer protection law.5. Changes, Cancellations and No-Shows
The following conditions apply equally to individual sessions and to sessions forming part of a package.
More than 24 hours before the sessionRescheduling or cancellation is free of charge. Changes can be made via the link in the booking confirmation email sent after your booking, or by contacting us at [email protected].Less than 24 hours before the session or No-ShowIf the Client changes or cancels a booking less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time, or fails to attend the session (No-Show), the session is considered used and no refund will be issued. Exceptional circumstances are handled in accordance with Section 6 (Force Majeure).6. Force Majeure
If Marlies is unable to deliver a service due to a force majeure event (e.g. sudden illness, a serious technical failure, or another insurmountable impediment beyond Marlies' control), we will notify the Client without delay and offer an alternative time. Marlies is not liable for any indirect costs the Client may incur as a result of such an impediment.
If the Client encounters a force majeure event less than 24 hours before a scheduled session (e.g. sudden serious illness), the Client must notify us without delay at [email protected]. Marlies has the right, but not the obligation, to offer a replacement session without additional charge, at its discretion on a case-by-case basis.7. Confidentiality and Data Protection
All matters, materials, and information arising in connection with the client relationship and the use of our services (e.g. coaching sessions) are strictly confidential. Marlies and all of its employees, representatives, and possible subcontractors are bound by an absolute and indefinite obligation of confidentiality.
Where a company pays for a service used by one of its employees (e.g. coaching), only the number of sessions completed and their dates are generally reported to the company for invoicing purposes. Marlies does not share the content of sessions or other communications with the employee with the paying company, unless this has been separately agreed between the paying party (company), the service user (employee), and Marlies.Personal data is processed in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Finnish data protection law. All content and materials associated with Marlies — including texts, logos, concepts, and visual elements — are protected under applicable intellectual property law (including EU, Finnish, and where relevant, other jurisdictions' legislation). This applies to content published on our own platforms as well as on third-party platforms. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or commercial use is not permitted.
9. Limitation of Liability
Marlies delivers its services professionally and with expertise. However, we do not guarantee specific financial, professional, or personal outcomes. The Client is solely responsible for the decisions and actions taken during and after the service process.
To the extent permitted by Finnish law, Marlies is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the Client for the specific service in question.Please also note that Marlies' services such as coaching do not constitute therapy, medical treatment, legal advice, or financial advice.10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Any disputes will be resolved primarily through negotiation between the parties.
If no resolution is reached through negotiation, disputes will be referred to the district court of Marlies Oy's registered domicile, unless mandatory law provides otherwise. Consumer clients have the right to bring disputes before the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (www.kuluttajariitalautakunta.fi). The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform is also available at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr11. Amendments
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised date. For existing bookings, the Terms in effect at the time of booking apply.
